Job description

Functional Skills Tutor – Life Skills Focus (SEN/SEMH)

Location: Gateshead | Rate: Up to £35/hr | Part-time flexible hours

We are looking for tutors who can bring Functional Skills to life for young people with SEN or SEMH needs, particularly those with disrupted education histories.

Focus will be on English and Maths skills for life and employment, with sessions delivered 1:1 in homes, schools or local settings.

✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (QTS, PTLLS, DTLLS etc.)

  • Enhanced DBS (child workforce)

  • Background in SEN/SEMH or youth work

  • Empathy, structure, and calm communication

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
