Functional Skills Tutor – Stockton (DL2 )

Location: Stockton, DL2 
Hours: Monday to Friday, School Hours
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a Functional Skills Tutor to provide tailored one-to-one support for learners working towards Functional Skills qualifications. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students develop essential English and Maths skills, improve confidence, and achieve their educational goals.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging 1:1 Functional Skills tuition.
  • Support learners in English and/or Maths.
  • Plan lessons tailored to individual needs and learning levels.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records.
  • Encourage learner engagement, confidence, and achievement.

Requirements

✔ Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills, GCSE, or equivalent qualifications.
✔ Strong knowledge of English and/or Maths.
✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
✔ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
✔ Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with learners requiring additional support.
  • Previous one-to-one tuition experience.
