Location: Stockton-on-Tees, TS18
Position: 1:1 SEN Tutor
Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (Flexible Hours Available)
Pay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Tutor to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Stockton area. The successful candidate will provide tailored educational support, helping learners achieve their academic goals while building confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver personalised 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to individual learning needs.
- Support students with a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, and learning difficulties.
- Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with the student's educational targets.
- Monitor and record student progress, adapting teaching strategies as required.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and relevant professionals.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
- Teaching qualification, tutoring experience, or relevant educational background preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting students outside of mainstream education.
- Knowledge of EHCPs and differentiated learning approaches.
