Secondary Teaching Assistant - Pontypridd
Location: Pontypridd
Pay: £93 per day
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday
Pay Frequency: Weekly Pay
Are you experienced in working with children and looking for a rewarding role within education? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming secondary school in the Pontypridd area.

The Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide academic, behavioural, and emotional support throughout the school day. You will play an important role in helping pupils engage with their learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support across a range of subjects and year groups.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions where required.
- Support pupils who may require additional assistance with their learning.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and communicate updates to teaching staff.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have previous experience working with children, either within a school, childcare setting, youth work environment, sports coaching role, or similar.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children or young people.
- Be confident building rapport with secondary-aged pupils (11-16).
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Be patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
- Have a positive approach to behaviour management.
- Be committed to supporting students both academically and personally.
Essential Requirements
Teaching Personnel can assist successful applicants with obtaining:
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service.
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.
- Two years of employment references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
