Reception / FS2 Primary Teacher 

Role: FS2 Primary Teacher

Location: Stockport, SK7

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary

Salary: £130 – 150

One of our partner schools are looking for an experienced FS2 Primary Teacher to come in on a long-term basis. This role will require someone who is well versed in early years education and can come in to hit the ground running. As a Reception Primary Teacher, you will be guiding children into their first experience of school and will necessitate a kind and comforting demeaner as well as excellent skills as an early years educator.

Responsibilities of a Reception Primary Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate lessons in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Create a stimulating, safe, and nurturing learning environment that promotes curiosity and independence.
  • Use play‑based and pupil‑led approaches to support early learning and development.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress using EYFS assessment methods, maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records, assessments, and reports.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs, including SEND, EAL, and children requiring additional support.
  • Promote children’s personal, social, and emotional development (PSED).
  • Establish and maintain positive behaviour management strategies appropriate to early years.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, EYFS colleagues, and wider school staff.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on progress and development.
  • Contribute to planning meetings, observations, and moderation activities.
  • Support transition into and out of Reception, including links with Nurseries and Year 1 staff.

Requirements of a Reception Primary Teacher:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Has a strong understanding of the EYFS framework, particularly FS2 (Reception).
  • Demonstrates a caring, patient, and child‑centred approach.
  • Confident in supporting early literacy and numeracy development.
  • Able to assess, observe, and track pupil progress in line with EYFS statutory requirements.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
