French Teacher
Job description
Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a French Teacher to join a well-established and high-achieving secondary school in the Gosport area, starting in January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher (QTS essential) with strong subject knowledge and a passion for language education to deliver engaging and impactful lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
In this role, you will plan and teach inspiring French lessons that support students in developing their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. You will prepare high-quality resources, create interactive and accessible learning activities, and ensure lessons cater to a range of abilities. You will also contribute to the wider Modern Foreign Languages department through involvement in assessments, curriculum planning, and enrichment opportunities.
Key responsibilities include delivering both language and cultural content, tracking and assessing student progress, providing meaningful feedback, and maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment. You will uphold high expectations for behaviour, follow school policies, and carry out planning, marking, and administrative duties as required.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and knowledgeable French specialist with QTS, confident in teaching secondary-aged students. You should be organised, adaptable, and committed to motivating learners through engaging and well-structured lessons. Strong communication and classroom management skills are essential. Both ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
