Teaching Personnel is actively seeking reliable, passionate, and motivated Teaching Assistants to join our growing team of supply staff, supporting Primary and EYFS settings across Looe and nearby communities. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who love working with children and are looking for flexibility, variety, and rewarding work in local schools.

✅ What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates with a range of backgrounds. Ideally, you will have:
- Level 3 childcare qualification (preferred but not essential)
- Previous experience supporting children — ideally in a school, nursery, or childcare setting, however strong transferable experience is also welcomed
- A passion for working with EYFS and primary-aged pupils
- Minimum availability of 2 days per week, with flexibility around which days you can offer
- A positive, proactive attitude, and confidence supporting children of mixed abilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with both pupils and staff
- A willingness to adapt, learn, and support different school environments
What the Role Involves
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children’s learning and general classroom functioning. Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing 1:1 or small group support to children who need additional guidance
- Assisting the class teacher with daily activities, routines, and lesson delivery
- Supporting children with reading, phonics, numeracy, and early learning activities
- Helping create a positive, inclusive, and enriching environment for pupils
- Supervising children during break and lunch times when required
- Adapting quickly to different school settings and classroom expectations
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour in all pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
