General Cover Teachers – Newcastle

This opportunity is ideal for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain valuable classroom experience, as well as Fully Qualified Teachers (FQTs) seeking flexible work across a range of schools.

Position Details

Role: General Cover Teacher
Location: Newcastle and surrounding areas
Pay: £155 per day
Contract: Flexible – 3 to 5 days per week depending on availability
Start Date: Easter 2026

Our partner schools are located across Newcastle with easy access from surrounding areas via the A1/A1(M) and A68, as well as strong public transport links across the North East.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Support students of varying abilities and learning needs.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide feedback to the school following lessons where required.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (support provided).
• Two recent professional references.
