Job description

EYFS Teacher

Location: NG12, Nottinghamshire
Salary: MPS
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2026

The moment a child writes their name independently for the first time. The excitement of discovering a new story. The confidence that comes from feeling safe, supported and encouraged to explore the world around them.

We're currently recruiting on behalf of a friendly and community-focused primary school in the NG12 area looking to appoint an enthusiastic EYFS Teacher who shares a genuine passion for early years education.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school where curiosity is encouraged, outdoor learning is valued, and children are given the foundations they need to thrive both academically and socially.

The Role

As the EYFS Teacher, you'll create an engaging and nurturing learning environment where every child feels confident to take risks, ask questions and develop a love for learning from day one.

You'll be responsible for delivering creative, play-based learning opportunities that support children's development across all areas of the EYFS curriculum while building strong relationships with families and colleagues.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Planning and delivering high-quality EYFS lessons and activities.
  • Creating an engaging classroom environment that inspires curiosity and exploration.
  • Monitoring and assessing children's progress against EYFS development goals.
  • Supporting children's social, emotional and academic development.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, SEN staff and parents.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school community.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching within EYFS.
  • Understands the importance of child-led and play-based learning.
  • Creates positive, inclusive learning environments where every child can succeed.
  • Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is passionate about helping young children reach their full potential.

Why This School?

This isn't a school where children simply sit at tables and complete worksheets. The Early Years team is committed to creating meaningful learning experiences through play, exploration and creativity. Staff work collaboratively, support one another and genuinely celebrate children's achievements, no matter how big or small.

The leadership team is approachable, staff wellbeing is valued, and there is a real sense of community throughout the school.

What You'll Get In Return

  • A supportive and welcoming school environment.
  • Access to high-quality CPD and professional development opportunities.
  • Well-resourced EYFS facilities and learning spaces.
  • A strong leadership team committed to staff wellbeing.
  • The opportunity to make a lasting impact during the most important years of a child's education.
