Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) – Blackburn

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Blackburn. This is a full-time position, starting after the May half term.

Location: Blackburn

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Pay: £14.30 per hour

Start Date: After May half term

About the Role:
You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, with a strong focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role may involve working 1:1 or with small groups, helping students access learning and develop socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support for pupils with ASD in the classroom
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver individual education plans (IEPs)
• Implement strategies to support communication, behaviour, and sensory needs
• Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
• Offer emotional and social support throughout the school day

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (essential)
• Proven experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• A patient, understanding, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of ASD strategies and interventions (desirable)
