Job description

Due to an upcoming vacancy, Teaching Personnel are looking for a teacher of English who has evidence of achieving outstanding results to join our popular and over-subscribed school in January 2020. This role will span for the remainder of the academic year with the opportunity for the successful candidate to earn a permanent school contract following their temporary placement.

The successful English teacher will join an ambitious English department and have the drive and energy to develop in this academically successful school.  They will take responsibility of delivering engaging lessons across Years 7 – 11 and will be experienced in delivering key stage 3 and GCSE English Language and Literature.

The successful teacher will take responsibility for planning schemes of work, marking and assessing work accordingly. We are looking for a passionate English teacher who has high standards of teaching and learning and will be able to secure good and outstanding progress and attainment across all key stages.

This Tameside based school is Ofsted rated Outstanding and is highly reputable in the area for its consistently impressive results. The school is smaller than average with around 800 pupils on roll aged 11-16, with an economically diverse student intake. Due to recent redevelopment and modernisation, the school has excellent state-of-the art facilities for all staff and students. Due to its location, the school is easily accessible via the surrounding areas including Stockport and the High Peak.
