English Teacher – Secondary School – Yeovil

Full-Time | Permanent | Start Date: ASAP 

A successful and forward‑thinking secondary school in Yeovil, Somerset, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join their thriving English department. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced English Teacher or an ECT looking to begin their teaching career in a supportive and ambitious environment.


About the Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Teach engaging, high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Deliver a curriculum that promotes strong progress, creativity and critical thinking
  • Use assessment and data to track progress and plan effective interventions
  • Create an inclusive and inspiring classroom environment for all learners
  • Contribute to curriculum development within a collaborative English team
  • Support wider school initiatives and take part in enrichment opportunities

  • A qualified English Teacher with QTS (or an ECT completing training)
  • Someone with strong subject knowledge and a passion for English Language & Literature

  • Someone who can build positive relationships and inspire students of all abilities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong English subject knowledge
  • Ability to teach KS3 & KS4 confidently
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
