Job description

Part-Time English Teacher – SEMH Secondary School (Wirral)

Location: Wirral, Merseyside
Position: Part-Time English Teacher
Contract Type: Permanent / Fixed-Term (depending on candidate preference)
Hours: 2–3 days per week (flexible scheduling available)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026

About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) secondary school in Wirral. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people who require a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Support students with SEMH needs through tailored teaching strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral and SEN teams to ensure holistic support.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEMH students or in alternative provision is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
