SEMH English Teacher - NN12 Area | Full-Time | Immediate Start

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH English Teacher to join a specialist setting in the NN12 area on a full-time basis, with an immediate start available. This is a rewarding opportunity to support secondary-aged students who require additional support with their social, emotional and mental health needs.
The Role
As an SEMH English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and creative English lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students aged 11-16. You will work closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team to create a positive learning environment that promotes both academic achievement and personal development.
The students you will be supporting present with a range of behavioural, emotional and mental health needs, and may have experienced barriers to education. Your ability to build positive relationships and provide consistency will be key to their success.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Differentiate learning to meet individual student needs.
- Support students in developing confidence, resilience and communication skills.
- Manage behaviour positively and effectively using a restorative approach.
- Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and reports where required.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and wider school staff.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English at secondary level.
- A strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies.
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with vulnerable young people.
- A patient, adaptable and resilient approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
