English Teacher – Full Time

Location: Manchester
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Manchester from September 2026.

The successful candidate will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 and play a key role in supporting students' academic progress and achievement. The school is looking for a teacher who can inspire a love of reading, writing and literature while maintaining high expectations for all pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons.
  • Plan, prepare and assess student work.
  • Support pupils of all abilities to achieve their potential.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and school activities.
  • Promote safeguarding and student wellbeing at all times.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
