Pay Rate: £172.98 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full academic year


About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated English Teacher to join one of our respected secondary schools in the Newport area!
The school is dedicated to enabling every pupil to achieve their full potential, guided by its motto: ‘Maximising Potential’. In the most successful lessons, teachers demonstrate enthusiasm for their subject, set ambitious goals, and deliver lessons at a pace that both challenges and inspires learners.

This position offers the chance to motivate and stretch students across Key Stages 3 to 5, developing their literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills. You’ll also be encouraged to play an active role in the wider school community by supporting extracurricular activities such as productions, clubs, and trips, while contributing to engaging schemes of work and outstanding teaching resources.

What We’re Looking for?

We welcome applications from individuals who:

  • Proven experience teaching English KS3/KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Can create an inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

Requirements

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or are completing their induction

Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • At least two professional references covering 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
