We are seeking a dedicated English specialist to join a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Monmouth.

This modern and inclusive school offers excellent facilities, a strong ethos of “Work Hard – Be Kind,” and a commitment to providing high-quality education for all learners. The school also features a large Specialist Resource Base (SRB) with dedicated facilities, bespoke timetables, and tailored support packages for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

Role Responsibilities

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that promote a love of reading, writing, and literacy skills.
  • Create a supportive, engaging classroom environment that encourages independent learning and positive behaviour.
  • Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of learners, including those with identified ALN.
  • Contribute to the wider school ethos through pastoral support and involvement in professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and the school's ALN/SRB team to ensure all pupils have access to an inclusive and inspiring curriculum.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this English Teacher role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level in the UK.
  • Strong ability to differentiate instruction and support learners with Additional Learning Needs.
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for English education and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
