English Teacher
Location: South Monmouthshire
Hours: 8:30am – 3pm
Pay: £72.98 - £240 per day (dependent on pay scale)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, until the end of the academic year
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a thriving secondary school in South Monmouthshire to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher. The successful candidate will join a flourishing English department within a school that inspires its learners to achieve the highest academic standards across all subject areas.
The ideal applicant will have at least one year of teaching experience; however, ECTs/NQTs are warmly encouraged to apply. The school benefits from excellent transport links, making it easily accessible from both Bristol and South Wales.
This is a full-time teaching position covering Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality English lessons in line with the curriculum.
- Develop engaging learning resources that support students’ language and literacy development.
- Lead interactive classroom discussions and activities that build communication and critical-thinking skills.
- Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and performance.
- Work collaboratively within the English department to enhance curriculum delivery.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development.
- Build and maintain positive communication with students, parents, and staff.
- Support students’ engagement, confidence, and success in the classroom.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Two professional references.
- Proof of right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
