English Teacher – Lancaster

Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Until the end of the academic year
Location: Lancaster
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you an inspiring and enthusiastic English Teacher looking for a rewarding position to take you through to the end of the academic year? A welcoming secondary school in Lancaster is seeking a passionate educator to join their team and deliver high‑quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Role

  • Teach engaging and well‑structured English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality teaching that supports student progress.
  • Assess, track and report on pupil attainment and development.
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that motivates students of all abilities.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and uphold the school’s values and expectations.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English.
  • Ability to inspire, challenge and support students.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and confidence to hit the ground running.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
