Teaching Personnel are working closely with a well-established alternative provision in Billinge that supports secondary-aged pupils who have found mainstream education challenging. The provision is known for its nurturing, relationship-led approach and its commitment to helping young people re-engage with learning, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes.
The school offers small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratios and a calm, structured environment where individual needs are prioritised. Staff work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide bespoke educational programmes, combining academic learning with emotional and behavioural support. The ethos of the provision is centred around respect, consistency and personal growth, creating a safe space where students feel valued and understood.
The role:

Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to small groups of students

Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of academic abilities and SEMH needs

Foster positive relationships to support behaviour, attendance and progress

Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and senior leaders

Plan, assess and track progress in line with individual learning plans
The ideal candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
-
Have experience teaching English at secondary level
-
Be confident, calm and resilient, with a passion for inclusive education
-
Have experience working with SEMH, alternative provision or vulnerable learners (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
