Are you a passionate and fully qualified English Teacher looking for your next opportunity?
We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Qualified English Teacher to join a good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Liverpool (L5) on a long-term supply basis, with strong potential to transition to a permanent position.
About the Role
As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring and educating students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (and potentially KS5 where applicable). You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team where high expectations and excellent practice are valued.
This role is ideal for teachers who:

Key Responsibilities
You will be expected to fulfil the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and Teachers’ Standards, including but not limited to:
Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English lessons (KS3 & KS4) that engage, motivate and challenge students.
- Adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of students and promote excellent progress.
- Use assessment effectively to track progress, provide constructive feedback and report on pupils’ achievements.
- Contribute to curriculum development and department planning.
Professional Practice
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour and uphold the school’s behaviour policy.
- Participate in school-wide activities, meetings, and events as required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
Wider School Contribution
- Support the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, pastoral duties, and parent communication.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent.
- Has strong subject knowledge in English and a commitment to high-quality teaching.
- Can demonstrate excellent behaviour management and motivational skills.
- Is adaptable, proactive and a team player.
