Job Title: English & Maths Primary Tutor – CH5 Chester
Location: Chester (CH5) and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible – Monday to Friday during school hours
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Tutor to provide 1:1 English and Maths support to pupils in the CH5 Chester area. This role involves supporting children who may require additional academic support, including learners with SEN or those working below expected levels.
You will help pupils build confidence, improve attainment, and re-engage with learning through tailored and engaging tuition sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised 1:1 English and Maths tuition sessions
- Adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs and abilities
- Support pupils in developing confidence and core skills
- Create engaging and supportive learning environments
- Monitor progress and provide feedback where required
- Follow safeguarding and compliance procedures at all times
Requirements
- Experience teaching or tutoring Primary English and Maths
- Good understanding of the UK Primary curriculum
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
- Experience supporting SEN pupils
- Teaching qualification or tutoring background
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport
