Primary School Educators Needed – September 2026

Teaching Assistants | ALN Support | Aspiring Educators | Qualified Staff

Location: Newport
Contract: Full-time, Part-time & Flexible
Pay: Weekly pay
Start: September 2026

Teaching Personnel are preparing for a large intake of educators to support our partner Primary schools across Newport for the new academic year in September 2026.

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and proactive individuals to work across a range of school settings including:

  • Mainstream Primary classrooms
  • ALN/SEN provisions
  • Learning Resource Bases (LRB)
  • Nurture and behaviour support settings

Whether you are experienced in education or looking to take your first step into schools, we want to hear from you.


Roles Available

• Teaching Assistants
• ALN/SEN Support Staff
• Nursery & Early Years Support
• Behaviour Support Assistants
• Cover Supervisors
• Qualified Teachers & ECTs


No Experience? No Problem

Experience is welcomed, but it is not essential.

We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds including:

  • Care & support work
  • Youth work
  • Sports coaching
  • Nursery settings
  • Hospitality & customer service
  • Psychology or education graduates
  • Parents or career changers

If you have the right attitude and willingness to learn, we can help you get started in education.


What Makes a Strong Teaching Assistant

• A proactive “get up and go” attitude
• Strong communication and people skills
• Patience, empathy and resilience
• Ability to build rapport quickly with children and staff
• Confidence working in busy classroom environments
• Willingness to support pupils with ALN/SEN and behavioural needs
• Flexibility and reliability


ALN/SEN Support

Many of our schools require support for pupils with:
• Autism (ASC)
• ADHD
• Speech & Language needs
• SEMH needs
• Behavioural challenges
• Learning difficulties

Training and support will be provided for candidates who are new to these settings.


Training & Support Provided

Teaching Personnel provides:
• Free online CPD courses
• Safeguarding training
• Team Teach behaviour management training
• Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
• Guidance through DBS & EWC registration

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
