EYFS Teaching Assistant

Morecambe, LA4
Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: ASAP or September

Do you have a passion for supporting children in the early years?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Morecambe (LA4) to recruit a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant. The school can offer a start date ASAP or from September, providing flexibility for the right candidate.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children aged 3–5 during a crucial stage of their development. You will help create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating environment that encourages learning through play and exploration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting children’s learning and development through EYFS-led activities
  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and early numeracy
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support where required
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Helping prepare learning resources and maintain an engaging classroom environment
  • Adhering to safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children in an EYFS or nursery setting (desirable but not essential)
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework (advantageous)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
