Design and Technology Technician
Teaching Personnel is working with a secondary school in Durham to appoint a Design Technology Technician to support the DT department. The role is available immediately and will run for at least one term, with the possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate.
About the role: You will work alongside teaching staff to support the delivery of practical DT lessons. This includes preparing materials, maintaining machinery, and ensuring the workshop environment is safe and organised.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing tools, materials, and equipment for lessons
- Maintaining and operating machinery such as a band saw, lathe, and other workshop tools
- Supporting staff and students during practical sessions
- Monitoring and managing stock and supplies
- Maintaining a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a school or college setting
- Confident and safe use of machinery commonly found in school workshops
- Valid COSHH certificate
- A current, enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one via Teaching Personnel
- Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
