Job Title: Design & Technology (DT) Engineering Teacher
Location: Kirkham, PR4
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled DT Engineering Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Kirkham (PR4). This is a full-time position suitable for a dedicated professional who can deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

The successful candidate will play a key role in inspiring students to develop their knowledge, creativity, and practical skills in engineering, preparing them for further education and future careers in the field.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in DT Engineering at KS4 and KS5
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
  • Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
  • Support students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience teaching DT Engineering at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (essential)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for engineering and design
  • Ability to manage practical lessons safely and effectively
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
