Are you a Drama or Performing Arts graduate looking to use your creativity in a rewarding setting? Do you have a passion for working with young people and want to make a real impact?

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN (Special Educational Needs) school in Gloucester seeking creative, energetic individuals to join their team this September.


The Role

This is a unique opportunity to bring your performance skills into education. You’ll support students with a range of needs, using creativity and adaptability to engage them in learning.

You may work across multiple provisions within the school group, offering varied and valuable experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students in and out of the classroom
  • Using creative techniques to engage learners
  • Encouraging confidence, communication, and self-expression
  • Assisting with tailored interventions and activities
  • Building strong, positive relationships with students

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A Drama / Performing Arts graduate (or similar)
  • Creative and able to think outside the box
  • Confident and engaging in their communication
  • Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people
  • Open to learning and developing new skills

Experience supporting children or young people is beneficial, such as:

  • Youth work
  • Theatre in education
  • Summer camps / after-school clubs

Training & Development

  • Full training provided
  • If successful, the school will fund a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Ongoing professional development and support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
