Phase: KS3–KS4 (Ages 11–16)

A forward‑looking and ambitious 11–16 secondary school in Andover is seeking an exceptional Director of Maths to lead and develop a core subject at the heart of the curriculum from September 2026. This is a full‑time leadership opportunity for an experienced maths practitioner ready to drive excellence, consistency and ambition across the department.

The Maths Department

As Director of Maths, you will lead curriculum design, teaching quality and staff development within the department, working closely with senior leaders to ensure high standards and continuous improvement.

Salary & Leadership Allowance
This role attracts a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) or Leadership Scale (L), commensurate with experience and impact.
- TLR option: Suitable for an experienced Head of Department or an aspiring middle leader ready to take ownership of curriculum, assessment and team development within Maths.
- Leadership Scale option: Consideration will be given to candidates with a strong track record of departmental leadership and whole‑school impact, who are ready to operate at senior middle‑leadership level.
The school is open to discussion and will appoint at the appropriate leadership level for the successful candidate, ensuring the role offers both challenge and professional progression.
