About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a successful secondary school seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and motivated Design & Technology Teacher to join their department from September 2026, or earlier for the right candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious school environment with high expectations for both staff and students. The role is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), with tailored support available to ensure professional growth and success.

The Role: Design & Technology Teacher

As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will deliver high‑quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, contributing to an inspiring, inclusive, and knowledge‑rich curriculum.

You will play a key role in shaping practical learning experiences that encourage creativity, problem‑solving, and resilience, while supporting students to achieve strong academic and personal outcomes.


What You Will Do

  • Deliver high‑quality Design & Technology lessons in line with the Teachers’ Standards
  • Plan and teach engaging, practical lessons that meet the needs of learners of varying abilities
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and schemes of learning within the department
  • Use a range of teaching and assessment strategies to promote progress and achievement
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress using appropriate assessment systems
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support learning and improvement
  • Set and mark homework in line with school policy
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, attainment, and progress
  • Contribute to enrichment activities and the wider life of the school
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge of Design & Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Passion for Design & Technology and student achievement
  • Willingness to collaborate and contribute to departmental development
  • Open to ECTs and experienced teachers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
