Teaching Personnel is currently looking for a recent science graduate across any subject (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) to join one of our client schools in the East of Manchester.
The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 per week.
This school is located in Gorton, it is easy to commute to on public transport or by car from Manchester City Centre, Stockport, Denton, and Reddish. The school, at times, can be a highly challenging environment. The school is in a very deprived area, the vast majority of their pupils do not speak English as their first language. This creates a more challenging environment as it is common that it can be more difficult to communicate with the pupils. Behaviour can also be challenging at times; you must be prepared to manage poor behaviour within a classroom. There is also a large number of pupils who require additional SEN support, you will be working alongside pupils with special educational needs such as autism.
As a Teaching Assistant, working in the Science Department, you will be responsible for working alongside the pupils who are struggling the most in their preparation for GCSE exams. You must be able to use the knowledge of science that you have to answer any questions that the pupils may have in a way that ensures they have gained a thorough understanding. You will be required to support the teachers in preparing scientific experiments and ensuring that the classroom remains safe throughout.

In order to be successful for this position, you must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, as well as provide at least two employment-based references that over the last two years of your employment. You will also be required to complete a safeguarding course.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
