Design & Technology Teacher (Construction Specialist Preferred)
Location: Sheffield
Employer: Teaching Personnel
Contract: Full-time / Part-time available
Start Date: ASAP 
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to work in a secondary school in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-resourced department and inspire students through creative, practical learning — with a particular focus on Construction.

We are especially keen to hear from teachers who have experience delivering Construction or Built Environment pathways, including hands-on workshop-based teaching.

The Role:

  • Teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Deliver Construction-focused units (Level 1/2 Construction, Wood Technology, or related qualifications desirable)

  • Plan engaging practical lessons in workshop environments

  • Support students in developing technical, problem-solving and employability skills

  • Maintain high standards of safety and classroom behaviour

  • Contribute positively to the wider department and school ethos

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Have experience teaching D&T in a secondary setting

  • Have strong practical knowledge of Construction / Wood / Resistant Materials

  • Be confident managing workshop tools and health & safety procedures

  • Be passionate about vocational and hands-on learning

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Be adaptable, reliable and committed to student progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
