Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? We are seeking a Specialist SEN Teacher to join our inclusive and nurturing school community in Croydon


About the Role

As an SEN Teacher you will:

  • Teach and support pupils with a variety of SEN/SEMH needs across a range of abilities, delivering personalised learning tailored to individual needs.

  • Develop and implement differentiated lessons, communication strategies, and sensory-friendly approaches.

  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to create consistent, positive routines and learning experiences.

  • Promote emotional regulation, independence, and confidence through creative and structured teaching.

  • Contribute to the development of the school's autism provision and share best practices with colleagues.



About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS) with experience in SEN or Autism support.

  • Passionate about inclusion, with a creative and flexible approach to teaching.

  • Skilled in communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or TEACCH (training can be provided).

  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with strong behaviour management skills.

  • Committed to helping every pupil achieve their potential - academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • A driver with some who can access a vehicle (desireable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
