Teaching Personnel is delighted to partner with a well-regarded secondary school in the Plymouth area that is seeking an energetic and reliable PE Cover Supervisor to join their team from January. This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with the potential for long-term placement.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a PE Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise PE lessons and practical sessions in the absence of the PE teacher

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure learning continues smoothly

  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and positive attitudes toward physical activity

  • Manage behaviour effectively to maintain a safe and focused learning environment

  • Support the PE department with equipment setup, organisation, and general tasks

  • Build strong relationships with students and act as a positive role model

  • Assist with general classroom cover across the school when required

  • Experience working with young people (school settings, sports coaching, youth work, etc.)

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Confidence leading groups of students and delivering pre-planned sessions

  • A genuine passion for sport, physical activity, and student development

  • Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach

  • A desire to progress professionally within an educational environment

  • Graduates, sports coaches, and aspiring PE teachers are highly encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
