Pay Rate: £110-£120 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Start Jan 2026

An ambitious secondary school in Newport is looking for a Cover Supervisor to join their dynamic team. This is your chance to gain practical classroom experience and kick-start a future career in teaching.
In this role, you’ll take charge of lessons when teachers are absent, ensuring pupils stay engaged and on track with pre-prepared work. Subject expertise isn’t essential—what matters is confidence, adaptability, and the ability to create a positive learning environment.

✅ What We’re Looking For
- Confidence in leading a class and managing behaviour positively
- Experience working with young people (e.g., youth work, coaching, tutoring, school support) is desirable
- Must be 18 or over
- Supportive of students’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Familiarity with core curriculum subjects
Requirements (or willingness to obtain – guidance provided):
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- Two professional references covering the 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
