Flexible – part time/full time - Immediate start 

YORK Secondary School

Schools have experienced many challenges since March last year because of COVID 19. One of those challenges has been to look after the mental health and well-being of students. Many schools have been in contact asking if Teaching Personnel can provide support staff to offer mentoring and mindfulness with students as a support worker. The role would require you to work with Ks3 and 4 SEND students so transferable skills or experience working with children and/or adults with complex needs is desirable. 

Here at Teaching Personnel, we are looking for numerous support staff who can offer one to one or small group intervention as a Teaching Assistant. The hours will be 08:30-15:30 Monday to Friday.

Ideal Candidates

  • Qualification in Counselling, Mental Health First Aid, Mental Health Awareness, Support Work, Psychology or Education is desired
  • Approachable, patient and a good listener
  • Understanding of confidentially and safeguarding of children and young people
  • Confident to liaise with pupils and school staff
  • Resilient and positive
  • Takes a genuine interest in the well-being of others

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
