Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools | Worksop

Location: Worksop
Office: Teaching Personnel Sheffield
Pay: £100–£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing
Contract: Flexible day-to-day and long-term opportunities

Teaching Personnel Sheffield is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a number of secondary schools in Worksop. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates based in Worksop, Carlton-in-Lindrick, Gateford, Shireoaks, Whitwell, Creswell, Retford, Langold, Rhodesia, or the surrounding areas.

Whether you're an experienced Cover Supervisor, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with experience working with young people, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise lessons during teacher absence, ensuring students remain engaged with the work set by teaching staff while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-set lesson materials
  • Supervising classes across a variety of subjects
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively
  • Supporting students to remain focused and engaged
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff after lessons
  • Promoting a safe and productive classroom environment

No lesson planning or marking is required.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates who:

  • Live in Worksop or within a 5–10 mile radius
  • Have previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or working with young people
  • Hold a UK-recognised degree or relevant transferable experience
  • Are confident managing groups of secondary-aged students
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Are reliable, adaptable, and professional

Experience in schools, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, customer service, or leadership roles is desirable but not essential.
