Job description

We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work within a specialist educational setting supporting learners aged 2 to 18. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and making a positive impact across different age groups.

You will be supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including:

  • Autism spectrum conditions

  • Social, emotional and mental health needs

  • Communication and interaction difficulties

  • Complex and additional learning needs

Support is personalised, consistent and focused on helping learners reach their individual potential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and activities

  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies

  • Support learners’ engagement and emotional needs


Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly supporting learners with SEN

  • Experience across primary or secondary age ranges is desirable

  • A full UK driving licence is essential due to the school’s location

  • Calm, organised and adaptable approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
