Location: Yeovil, Somerset

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs?

We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a highly supportive SEN school in Yeovil. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining learning continuity and creating an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and activities across KS1–KS4 in the absence of the class teacher
  • Support students with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
  • Promote positive behaviour and manage classroom dynamics using school policies
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, fostering confidence and independence

This specialist SEN school provides education for pupils 5-16 years old with diverse needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, social, emotional and mental health challenges, and sensory or physical needs. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential.


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or youth settings
  • Strong classroom management skills and a calm, positive approach
  • Understanding of SEN support strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full Time, Part Time and Fexible applicants will be considered for this role

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in SEN or alternative provision settings
  • Knowledge of strategies such as Zones of Regulation, visual supports, or Team Teach training

Working Hours

Monday – Friday | 08:30 – 16:30 | Term-Time only
