Teaching Personnel are seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools throughout South Yorkshire. We have a range of opportunities available, from flexible day-to-day supply to longer-term placements.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring students remain engaged with their work in the absence of their usual teacher.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supervising classes and delivering pre-set lesson work.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining high expectations.
• Supporting students with their learning and answering questions where appropriate.
• Ensuring lessons run smoothly and students remain focused.
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Providing feedback to teaching staff where required.
• Supporting the wider school community when needed.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have previous experience working with children or young people.
• Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Are confident supervising groups of secondary-aged students.
• Can follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
• Are adaptable and comfortable working in different school environments.
• Have a professional, positive and enthusiastic approach.
• Are passionate about supporting students' education and development.

Graduates and experienced Teaching Assistants looking to progress into a Cover Supervisor role are also encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
