Job description

Cover Supervisors Required – Salford Secondary Schools

Start Date: After the Easter break
Contract Duration: Until the end of the academic year
Location: Salford

We are seeking dedicated, professional, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support a number of secondary schools across Salford for the remainder of the school year. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience within an educational setting or considering a future career in teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising classes during the short‑term absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensuring that pre‑prepared lesson materials are delivered effectively
  • Maintaining a positive and orderly learning environment
  • Managing classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies
  • Providing general support to pupils to facilitate continued learning

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working with young people (education, tutoring, youth work, coaching, etc.)
  • Strong communication and classroom‑management skills
  • Professional, calm, and reliable approach
  • Availability from April through to July
  • Possession of an Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
