Job description

eaching Personnel are working with a number of secondary schools across Rochdale to recruit Graduate Cover Supervisors.

This position offers paid classroom experience for graduates who are interested in teaching but want to gain practical experience before committing to formal teacher training. It is a popular route into education and provides a strong understanding of classroom management and school routines.

You will be responsible for supervising classes during short‑term teacher absence, ensuring learning continues using work set by the class teacher. Schools value consistency, and opportunities range from flexible supply to longer‑term placements.

The role will involve:

  • Supervising KS3 and KS4 classes
  • Delivering clear instructions and maintaining expectations
  • Managing behaviour and classroom routines
  • Supporting pupils to stay engaged with learning
  • Gaining experience across different schools or within one setting

No lesson planning or marking is required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
