Job description

Secondary Cover Supervisor – Durham

£95 to £110 per day depending on experience, ASAP start, day to day flexible supply.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Durham on a day to day supply basis.

We're particularly interested in candidates who are confident delivering pre set work and supporting learning in subjects such as Maths, Design Technology, Art, and Food Technology. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work or looking to gain valuable classroom experience in secondary education.

Experience in schools is beneficial but not essential. Candidates with transferable skills from education, tutoring, youth work, coaching, or industry experience in relevant subjects are strongly encouraged to apply.

What you'll be doing:

  • Delivering and supervising pre planned lessons across KS3 to KS4
  • Maintaining a positive and well managed classroom environment
  • Supporting pupil engagement and on task behaviour
  • Following school policies and lesson plans

You need:

  • Confidence leading a classroom independently
  • Strong communication and classroom presence
  • Experience or confidence in Maths, DT, Art, or Food Tech
  • Calm, professional approach to behaviour management
  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
