Cover supervisor– Full time

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Start Date: 14th September
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full time

We are currently looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic Cover supervisor with experience delivering high-quality teaching, available in the Corby and greater Northamptonshire area. A successful candidate will be skilled in maintaining effective classroom management, delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects and year groups, and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher. This job would be best suited to someone committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a Cover supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering high quality lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum and policies.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse learning needs of pupils, including those with SEND and EAL needs.
  • Assess and monitor pupil engagement and progress during lessons.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents while representing the school professionally.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
  • Support school activities and contribute positively to the wider school community when required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by teaching across different year groups and subjects as needed.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an educator who:

  • Has a clear understanding of Safeguarding and keeping children safe in education.
  • Is adaptable and comfortable working with different year groups, in different schools across the Northamptonshire area.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing regular feedback to support achievement.
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities, including those with SEND and EAL needs.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, parents' evenings, and other school events as required.
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to providing high-quality learning experiences.
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with children aged 11-18

Working Hours

Weekdays 8:30am – 3:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
