Cover Supervisor – Mainstream Secondary School, Christchurch
Start Date: ASAP | Full-Time Position

A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Christchurch is seeking a confident and dedicated Cover Supervisor to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is looking to develop their experience within a school setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with pre-prepared work. They will demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to manage behaviour effectively, and the confidence to lead a classroom independently.

This role would suit someone with experience working with secondary-aged students, whether in an educational, coaching, youth work or similar setting. The school is also open to graduates who are considering a future in teaching and wish to gain valuable classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering pre-set lessons and managing the classroom environment

  • Supporting students to stay focused and complete assigned work

  • Upholding the school’s behaviour policies

  • Supervising students across a range of subjects

  • Providing support to teaching staff when required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
