Cover Supervisor – Bournemouth

Contract: Full-time / Temporary (with potential for permanent opportunities)
Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

A well‑respected secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join their supportive and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and keen to gain valuable classroom experience within a positive and well‑established school environment.

The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-set lesson plans
  • Creating and maintaining a calm, focused and productive learning environment
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting pupils to stay on task and engage with their learning
  • Assisting with additional duties when not required to cover lessons

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has a genuine interest in supporting young people and education
  • Is confident, adaptable and able to manage a classroom effectively
  • Demonstrates strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Is flexible and comfortable working across different subjects and year groups
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
  • A valid Child only Enhanced DBS certificate is required, or willingness to obtain one in line with safeguarding and DfE guidance

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
