Job description
Teaching Personnel are seeking a confident, proactive, and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the Bognor Regis area. This full-time role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on classroom experience or explore a future career in teaching. In this position, you will supervise classes of students aged 11–16 in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring that lessons run smoothly and pupils remain engaged in their learning. You will work across a variety of subjects, maintaining a positive learning environment and providing support where needed, including for students with special educational needs. The role involves delivering and overseeing pre-set lesson plans, managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies, keeping students motivated and on task, and providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and classroom conduct. Candidates with experience working with secondary-aged pupils, particularly those with SEN, will be well-suited to this position, as will those who are confident in managing a classroom, adaptable to different learning environments, and skilled in building positive relationships with students. The successful candidate should demonstrate a genuine passion for education and supporting young people’s development. This role offers an immediate start, competitive daily pay rates between £95 and £140, a welcoming and supportive school community, and ongoing guidance from Teaching Personnel’s dedicated recruitment team. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
