Cover Supervisor – Alton – January 2026 Start

Full-Time | Secondary | Suitable for Graduates & Unqualified Teachers

Are you a graduate or aspiring teacher looking to gain hands-on experience in a secondary school setting? Teaching Personnel are working with a well-organised secondary school in Alton who are seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to start in January 2026.

This role is perfect for graduates and unqualified teachers who are eager to develop practical classroom skills, gain insight into the education sector, and support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons, maintaining classroom engagement, and ensuring smooth learning in the absence of teaching staff.


The Role:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects
  • Maintain positive behaviour and a productive learning environment
  • Support learners of varying abilities and report on classroom progress
  • Ensure lessons run smoothly during staff absences
  • Follow school policies regarding behaviour, safeguarding, and teaching

What We’re Looking For:

  • Graduates or unqualified teachers keen to gain practical classroom experience
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Confidence working with secondary-aged students (11–16)
  • Reliable, proactive, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
