Cover Supervisor & Sports Support Assistant
Location: Secondary Schools across Cardiff
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 (Term Time Only)
Pay: £110 – £120 per day
Contract: Flexible | Part-time & Full-time Available

Are you a recent graduate, sports student, or aspiring teacher eager to gain hands-on experience in a secondary school setting? We have an exciting dual-role opportunity that allows you to develop both classroom and sports leadership skills while supporting young people’s academic and physical growth.

Teaching Personnel partners with welcoming secondary schools across Cardiff who are seeking enthusiastic, adaptable individuals to work as Cover Supervisors and Sports Support Assistants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, Humanities, PE, DT, Art, Computing, and MFL.
  • Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher, maintaining focus and positive behaviour.
  • Support PE lessons, extracurricular activities, and after-school sports clubs.
  • Create inclusive, engaging learning environments that support diverse learners.
  • Build strong professional relationships with students, teachers, and school staff.

What You’ll Gain

Person Specification

  • Sports students or graduates, or individuals working towards a degree in any subject.
  • A genuine interest in education, coaching, or youth development.
  • Confident communicators with a proactive, adaptable approach.
  • Previous coaching, leadership, or mentoring experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Minimum requirement: degree-level education or currently studying towards a degree.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
