Job description

Core Subject Tutor – Central Manchester (M1)
Flexible one-to-one tuition that changes lives

Are you a qualified teacher or experienced educator looking for a new way to make an impact? We’re recruiting passionate Core Subject Tutors in Central Manchester (M1) to support pupils who are currently out of mainstream education.

This role involves delivering personalised one-to-one tuition in Maths, English, or Science, depending on your specialism. Pupils may be learning at home or in public settings like libraries, and each has their own unique story—some have additional needs, others have gaps in their learning, and many just need the time and attention that classroom settings can’t always offer.

You’ll create tailored sessions to build confidence, re-engage pupils, and help them make meaningful academic progress.

Why consider this role?

  • Work one-to-one with pupils and see real results

  • Teach in a calm, focused environment (home or library-based)

  • Earn £25–£30 per hour depending on experience

  • Flexible hours to suit your schedule (typically Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm)

  • Weekly pay via PAYE with no agency fees

  • Minimal admin and supportive guidance from our team

We’re particularly keen to hear from qualified teachers (QTS) or professionals with solid subject knowledge and experience supporting learners. This is a brilliant opportunity to step away from the classroom but continue doing what you do best—helping young people thrive.

If you’re ready to make a difference in Central Manchester, apply today with your CV.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
