Job description

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bootle, Sefton from September. This is an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity for someone looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs while developing their career in education.

The Role

  • Support pupils with a range of complex learning, communication, and sensory needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff to deliver tailored interventions.
  • Help pupils access learning in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive social development.
  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience supporting children with SEND, complex needs, autism, or learning difficulties (desirable but not essential).
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
  • Holds a relevant qualification or has transferable experience in care, support work, or education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
